Chang deok gung is famous for its beautiful palace garden, called the Secret Garden.
(Bi-won: 'Bi' means secret, and 'won' means garden.)

Don't forget to check out the beautiful BI WON!

Chang gyeong gung(Changgyeong-Palace)

Chang gyeong gung is facing the East.
Comparing to other palaces and all other royal architectures, it's very unique. Traditionally southward houses and rooms were considered the best, however Chang gyeong gung is looking the East and it's because the palace was originally built for the queens.
Queens traditionally stayed in the east side of every palaces. So the main entrance of the palace is facing the east, and every buildings in Chang gyeong gung is facing east too. (even Chang gyeong gung itself is in the east side of Seoul comparing to other palaces.)

Deok su gung(Deoksu-Palace)

Deok su gung was the palace of the last king of Joseon.
Not magnificent as the main palace Gyeong Bok Gung.
However the composition of the buildings are real beautiful and harmonious.
You can also find some influences from the modern times.
(fountain, and western style balcony etc.)

Deok su gung - Jung Gwan Hun

Deok su gung is the smallest(and even some part of the palace was destroyed in the history) but full of stories of the last dynasty of Joseon.
There is a building remaining in Deok su gung where the last princess of Joseon lived, during her early childhood before she was sent to Japan.

You can also check the Art museum of Deoksugung attached to the palace.
